Prescriptions & Plants
Science Lecture

Herbs have become a handy scapegoat for the high risks built into the drug-dependent medical system. Adverse effects of pharmaceuticals are the fourth leading cause of death in the United States. Yearly deaths from herbs are only a handful nationwide, while more people than ever are taking herbs. Their doctors don’t know or want to hear about it. True interactions between common prescriptions and popular herbs are rare and we will examine how interactions happen. We will also distinguish between this and simple overdose. .  Learn wise choices of herbs to promote vibrant health.  Explore the making of herbal infusions and decoctions as well as fresh herb use.
