BIOGRAPHY
For over 23 years Heather has been offering sensible and practical healing counsel as an Herbalist.
Having dedicated her life to sharing this wealth of knowledge, she has assisted thousands in reclaiming their own health process, in giving healing aid to their families and sometimes in becoming professional Herbalists themselves.
Her diverse herbal practice is rooted in the community that she serves in Eugene as the Apothecary and Proprietor of Mrs. Thompson's Herbs.
She is also an instructor at community colleges, in universities, conferences, herb schools,in the distance learning course: The Village Herbalist Independent Herbal Study Course, is Head of Faculty at the Academy Of Scottish Herbalism and the Founder of the Green Arts Herbal Conference.
Heather holds three certificates of training in herbalism from The Oregon School Of Herbal Studies, Brighid's Academy Of Healing Arts, and has additional training in nutrition and culinary arts. She served her herbalist internship with a 20 year practising Herbalist and received tutelage from Naturalist and Scottish Elder Allister Brebner. She continues to research and seek out knowledge, experience and inspiration from chemistry, science, old manuscripts, people, the plants and the land.
With a specialty in foods that heal and healing diets, she has an encyclopedic knowledge of nutrients and the health conditions that they address. As a former professional chef she has experience in creating recipes that make these foods into beautiful, nutritious and delicious meals for the body and soul.
Heather has a caring touch, an enthusiastic presence and a deep knowledge of health, healing and Herbalism. She has achieved international recognition in her field and is consulted by Naturopaths, Midwives, lay and professional Herbalists, Sports Trainers and Medical Doctors.
